Holiday Guide
Favorite Christmas stories.
by Jenny Meade -- Being Savvy Kansas City
Over the years, we've received numerous books about Christmas and the holidays as gifts. Everything from Disney characters like Bear in the Big Blue House to really smart, sophisticated stories that become heirloom books. One of my favorites is Auntie Claus and The Key to Christmas.
Auntie Claus is a story about Santa Claus' older sister, who lives in a Penthouse of a fancy hotel in New York City, of course, and her nephew Chris Kringle, who decides he doesn't believe his family's history. It's a sweet, fun and sweeping story, short on lecture and long on fantatsical fun.
It is colorful enough to hold the attention of your toddlers, but it's language and story is sophisticated enough for those already growing cynical grade-schoolers. Everyone will love it.
