Holiday Entertainment Mega Deals

by Vanessa Druckman -- Being Savvy Newark

Although the economic news seems to be getting worse every day, there is at least one silver lining to the recession. There are amazing deals to be had on holiday entertainment - at a time when there are usually no deals to be had! Many shows are closing, but as a last gasp effort, they are offering some very affordable tickets. Here are some of the deals available now.

Disney has announced a limited â??Kids Go Free!â?? ticket offer beginning Dec. 1. The Broadway productions of Disneyâ??s The Lion King, The Little Mermaid and Mary Poppins are participating in the offer that allows ticket buyers to receive one free childâ??s admission for children ages 18 and under with each full-priced ticket purchased to the participating Disney production from Jan. 6-March 13, 2009. The â??Kids Go Free!â?? ticket offer begins at 10 AM ET on Dec. 1 and will continue until 11:59 PM on Dec. 12. The limited offer is valid only with the purchase of a full-priced orchestra or front-mezzanine ticket. Additional orchestra and front-mezzanine tickets can also be purchased under the offer for 50 percent off the full price.

Wintuk is an amazing Cirque du Soleil show about the magic of Christmas. We saw it last December and the kids are still talking about it. This year it has been enhanced with two new acts that are supposed to be spectacular. The show is at the WaMu theater from now until January 4. If you enter the code ONE2ONE in the WaMu ticket ordering page, you will receive 25% off.

The ultimate Christmas entertainment is, of course, the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. There are dancing show girls, flying santas and it is incredible entertainment for the whole family. For an exclusive 25% discount for certain show times of the Radio City Music Hall, use the coupon code ONE2ONE when you buy your tickets.  Tickets are on sale from now until December 30, 2008 but the discount is applicable for specific showtimes between now and December 19.

This is a tough time of the year as we stretch our wallets more than we planned to buy the gifts our kids want - but I'm really tempted to stretch it a bit further to take my kids to see the Lion King or the Little Mermaid - for free! I'm sure it's something they'll remember forever.
